In the end of March we went to Norway again to celebrate Easter, spend time with friends and family, and of course take some photos to share with you. We spent much of our time in Kristiansand, Vigeland and Evje. We had amazingly good weather during our 2 weeks stay, and we got the opportunity to go slalom skiing at Eikerapen, have a couple of BBQs with good friends, and went exploring in several hidden old German WW2 bunkers in Kristiansand and Flekkerøya.
We even managed to photograph an eagle without knowing it when we visited a known eagles nest at the Otra river in Evje. We could not spot the eagle, only the big nest in the distance and told each other we had to be really lucky to just show up and find the eagle posing for the camera.

Finally finding a somewhat secure spot on top of the waist high snow I started taking some photos of the river landscape, the water plunging through the cold but sunny winter landscape gave several good photo ops.

Since we got the new zoom lens I decided to take a chance and try to get some closeup photos of a water mist forming over the fuming water. When we looked at the photos later on the laptop, we saw to our astonishment that the eagle was sitting by the water mist, probably hunting for fish.

It was even accompanied by two large black birds called Skarv. These birds are not common at all to see together so we were very surprised.
During our stay we did some hiking and Kenneth captured these peaceful sunsets along the coast of Kristiansand.
Kenneth got creative when he saw that the ice in the Topdalsfjord started to melt and made a couple of time-lapse videos of the ice melting in the fjord and the special light the clouds created over the mountains. Enjoy!
This has been a great way to start the day … I can feel the exhilaration of the fresh air … even though it still feels like summer here in Australia … love the time lapse images … the ice, the water, the long shots showing the rugged remoteness of a country I have not yet been to …
